Looks like Jackets will have more than 2.
This is also weird. |

Jackets just need to play the Caps every game, and they might win the cup. |

Another lazy effort.
Can't win all the games, but they have been outplayed/out worked in half of them. You are eventually going to run out of good bounces and luck.

How did that work out last time they played in the playoffs? Nice effort by the CBJ last night. Bjorkstrand seems to play well against us. Games like these against a borderline AHL level talent team (as a result of injuries) reminds me why the Caps are still susceptible to a first round loss this year. They could win the presidents trophy and id say theres like a 40% chance they could lose in the first round to a team like FLA, TB, BUF or whoever sneak in. |

Well any team that comes out hard and brings it every night they have a problem with.
If they play a hot team that's psychical and just snuck in chances are 50/50 to me.
I hope they don't resign ovechkin he already ain't worth the money. He is slow, gives away the puck all the time and beside and unless you serve it in his spot on PP he can't score anyways.
But we all know Ted is a softie and probably give him 2-3y ext |

Ovi and Backstrom will restructure their contracts together for probably another 5 years and will retire at the same time. They both want to retire with the Caps and have publicly said it would be special to go out together. Bros for life!
Backstrom gets a 5 year deal at the end of the season
Ovi gets a 4 year deal starting at the end of next season

That's exactly what you shouldn't do and how you mortgage your future. If anything than they should go year by year.

you know the team will be fine. Ovi is barely showing any signs of slowing down and backstrom is the quarterback of the offense. Yes Ovi turns it over sometimes but he is always looking to create offense and I cant fault him for that. Seldom do you see him get his pockets picked and there is an odd man rush the other way. There are turnovers and reckless turnovers. He does not recklessly turn it over.
Year by year is interesting, I cant think of many contracts in the league that do that with the same team over and over. I haven't checked but just cant think of one off |

He's definitely showing signs, plus he has another year and half left on existing contract. He plays a heavy game and is going to age faster in my opinion. B-Mac is not stupid I don't believe he goes long on any extension unless Ted steps in.
I remember those 2004-8 half empty stadium days when they were irrelevant, $35 tickets in 101 etc.
